Looking for meaningful connection in our community? Become a mentor with Partners!
Our volunteer mentors get matched with a local youth (their new mentee!) who shares interests and an eagerness to connect. Partnerships find activities to do together, engage in the community, and work on goals they set together. Just an hour a week can help your mentee gain confidence, life skills, and hope for the future. We have a variety of volunteer roles available–check the details here.
Mentors can also expect to gain from their participation in a mentoring partnership. Our mentors often report that forming a bond with their mentee helps them feel more excited about activities, better able to understand the next generation, and appreciative of finding meaning through connection. This tracks with research that shows a long list of potential benefits of volunteering, including improved social opportunities, reduced loneliness, less stress and anxiety, and greater happiness from engaging in a worthwhile activity. In addition to finding connection with your mentee, you will also join a group of volunteers who also care about making a difference in northern Colorado.

Partners is a local nonprofit serving Northern Colorado for the past 47 years. Our mission is to empower youth to reach their full potential through mentoring, prevention education, and strategic partnership.
We are currently seeking volunteer mentors to support Northern Colorado youth who are facing challenges socially, academically, and personally.
Partners needs community members from all backgrounds to match with kids from all backgrounds. With over 100 youth to match, everyone who cares about kids could be a good fit!
We are currently particularly seeking Spanish speakers, people of color, and folks who identify as LGBTQ+ to meet requests from kids on the waitlist. We have several youth who have requested mentors who have shared lived experience to help them navigate unique challenges. This follows research that shows when mentors are paired with youth of the same demograhic identities, they are more competent at helping youth overcome social barriers associated with those identities.
All volunteer roles have flexible scheduling and relevant training help ensure your success as a mentor. Our volunteers report that they received helpful support from our staff and that becoming a mentor is one of the most meaningful things they’ve done.
