Prom Season 2026 in Northern Colorado: High School Prom Dates and After-Prom Events

Prom season is one of the most memorable milestones in a student’s high school experience. Unfortunately, prom night is a dangerous night for some students, even those who aren’t driving impaired themselves. Roughly one-third of alcohol-related teen traffic deaths occur during prom season, making it an important time for No DUI NoCo to raise awareness about safe choices and community efforts to prevent impaired driving.

From Fort Collins to Estes Park and southern Weld County, schools in Northern Colorado are preparing for this annual tradition.

 Safety Benefits of After Prom

These programs help prevent impaired driving in several important ways:

  • Keeping teens off the road late at night
Late-night celebrations can involve traveling between parties or gathering places. after prom events provide a single, supervised location for students.
  • Reducing alcohol and drug use
Because after prom events are alcohol-free and monitored by adults, they offer teens a fun alternative to parties where alcohol may be present.
  • Providing supervision and support
Parent volunteers and school staff help ensure students remain safe and accounted for throughout the night.
  • Reducing impaired-driving crashes
Prom and graduation season historically sees increased risks for teen drivers. Safe, supervised celebrations help prevent tragedies by reducing opportunities for impaired driving.

How Communities Can Support Safe Prom Nights

Supporting after prom programs, encouraging safe transportation, and talking openly with teens about impaired driving can help ensure that prom night remains a celebration, and that every student gets home safely. More than 85% of teens say they or their peers are likely to drive impaired instead of calling their parents for help because they are afraid of getting in trouble.

Why After Prom Events Matter

After the dance ends, some communities host after prom events – organized, supervised celebrations that give students a safe place to continue celebrating late into the night. While after proms used to be standard, as school funding has changed in recent decades, so has the ability of many schools to host after-proms. While we know 39% of teens think it’s “likely” their friends will drink or use drugs on prom night, the goal of after-prom is to keep anyone who is impaired off the road.

These programs are typically organized by parent volunteers, school staff, and community partners. No DUI NoCo is pleased to promote and sponsor the following after proms in Northern Colorado in 2026.
