2024 Impact Report: No DUI NoCo’s Fight Against Impaired Driving in Northern Colorado
Throughout 2024, No DUI NoCo (formerly No DUI Larimer) remained steadfast in our mission to prevent high and drunk driving and promote road safety, with an expansion into Weld County, Colorado. Through community engagement, educational events, and impactful marketing campaigns, we aimed to reduce the devastating consequences of driving under the influence. Here’s a look at our committee’s accomplishments in 2024.
EVENTS AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
No DUI NoCo participated in 71 community events in 2024, reaching thousands of community members with our message of safe and sober driving. Here’s a breakdown of some events we attended and the unique impact of each:
Estes Park Whiskey Warm-Up (Estes Park)
The Whiskey Warm-Up is a whiskey festival offering samples of whiskey and other spirits from 20+ distilleries, along with live music and retail vendors. This event draws thousands of people from Estes Park and the Front Range annually. Our team encouraged attendees to plan for a sober ride home after their whiskey tastings.
Impressions: 4,000 in pre-event advertising and in-person interactions at our booth
Prom Events (Windsor, Loveland, Fort Collins)
No DUI NoCo places an emphasis on teen and young adult safety, those in our community who will carry forward our mission to make roads safer in northern Colorado. Prom events in our region are a great way to reach those teens, so we partner with Women Optimizing Women’s Pop-Up Prom donation and shopping events, Thompson Education Foundation’s Project Prom shopping events, and Fort Collins High School’s after-prom to get information into the hands of students and their parents.
Impressions: 7,400 views from online marketing, newsletters, flyer distribution, bag stuffers, and in-person interactions
Foothills Music on the Lawn (Fort Collins)
Music on the Lawn at Fort Collins’ Foothills Mall is a free, open-to-the-public live music event held on Fridays throughout the summer. Guests are invited to visit the beer garden, grab some dinner, and bring family and friends to enjoy music on the lawn. No DUI NoCo encouraged concertgoers to get home safe after an evening enjoying music and drinks. These summer concerts are extremely popular and allow us to reach a large number of people from all walks of life.
Impressions: 14,500 in online promotion, distribution of materials, and in-person interactions
Johnstown BBQ Day (Johnstown)
Another public event with broad appeal, Johnstown BBQ Day draws thousands of northern Coloradoans annually to enjoy food trucks, vendors, musicians and entertainment. We spoke with thousands of individuals and families about making choices to keep our community safe.
Impressions: 5,000 in-person views and interactions with staffed No DUI NoCo booth
Berthoud Oktoberfest (Berthoud)
Berthoud Oktoberfest is a hugely popular, alcohol-focused event that also features food trucks, vendors, games and activities for all ages. Our team engaged with the public, sharing tips to avoid driving impaired and listening to their stories of how DUIs have affected them and the people around them.
Impressions: 5,000 from advertising, distribution of Chipper’s Lanes FUN BUCKS, and interactions with our staff
Winter Holiday Events (Johnstown, Milliken, Greeley, Loveland, Fort Collins)
The holidays are a great time to find families and friends enjoying light displays, meeting Santa, or shopping for gifts. Unfortunately, they are historically a time when impaired driving fatalities spike as people celebrate irresponsibly. In 2024, No DUI NoCo engaged with 28,000 members of our communities during the holiday season. You may have seen us at: the Johnstown Jingle, Milliken Festival of Lights, Weld County Family Cookie Decorating Night, Loveland Winter Wonderlights, Stuff the Stocking (FAFLC), Kenzi’s Causes Fort Collins Toy Shop, or the NoCo Secret Samaritan Toy Shop.
Impressions: 28,000 from sponsorships, social media, giveaways, Chipper’s Lanes FUN BUCKS distribution, and face-to-face interactions
Teen-Focused Events (Loveland, Greeley)
In addition to prom season, we aim to keep our message in front of teens and young adults throughout the year by partnering with teen-focused events. This year, those events included Fort Collins’ Teen Self Care Fair, UC Health’s Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth Night, Weld County Teen Game Night, and several Weld County Clearview Library District teen events.
Research shows that talking to children early and often about substance use contributes to positive adult behaviors, part of how we aim to shape the future of road safety in Colorado.
