Chevron sponsoring the giving wall at Party for Partners 2025

Chevron’s Support of Partners Funds Programs that Help Youth Thrive

As a nonprofit organization, our work is made possible through the support of our generous donors and sponsors. Chevron has been one of our year-end sponsors and corporate donors since 2021. Their donations have helped make Partners events and fundraisers — such as our annual Party for Partners — successful, and we are very grateful for their continued support.

Chevron’s funding goes directly towards our programs designed to empower local youth to reach their full potential. Our mentoring program pairs a youth with a trustworthy adult mentor, chosen and paired uniquely with them based on the youth’s personality, interests, and needs. Through this mentorship, our youth have demonstrated increased confidence, improved attitudes about substance use, and hope for the future.

“I really like my time with my mentor,” a Partners youth mentee said. “It’s a lot of fun and I can express my feelings easily with her. She has a popping personality, and she is really nice and caring. She never lets anything get in the way and she is amazing.”

These mentoring partnerships are mutually beneficial, providing an enriching and rewarding experience for the adult mentor as well as the youth mentee.

“A few months ago, my mentee began talking about how she couldn’t hear out of one of her ears,” one of our mentors said. “She was nervous to go to the doctor about this due to her past complaints being dismissed, so I tried to help her feel more comfortable advocating for herself. Eventually she did go to the doctor for it, and they diagnosed her as hard of hearing. She felt validated by this diagnosis, and it further ignited her passion for learning American Sign Language. I was excited to hear that she wanted to learn more about Deaf culture and Sign Language, because I have a lot of experience learning it myself. Since then, we have been practicing during our meetings, and I’ve helped her get enrolled in a free online course. She has been improving quickly, and I’m super impressed with her progress. I have also found a passion in teaching her and watching her grow, and I can’t wait to see how she continues to progress!”

These positive impacts of mentorship are felt not only by the mentee and mentor, but by the families of the mentees as well.

“My child said that his mentor keeps showing up and helping him feel safe and more secure,” a parent of a mentee said. “Thank you so much for everything you guys do!”

These are just a few examples which showcase the incredible power of our mentoring program, which is funded and made possible through our donors and sponsors. To demonstrate our gratitude, we offer our sponsors an exclusive package of benefits. Visit www.poweredbypartners.org/get-involved/ to learn more about how you can support our mission.
