As explained in our mission statement, strategic partnership is a key component of the work we do serving local youth and the community. One organization we are a partner agency of is Realities For Children, a nonprofit based in Northern Colorado which provides for the unmet needs of abused, neglected, or at-risk youth.
Realities For Children has been a supporter of Partners’ program for decades. Their grant funds have contributed to the success of Partners events, such as Party for Partners. Their donations have also gone towards our programs designed to help local youth and community members reach their full potential, and we are very grateful for their support over the years.
This organization has also supported us by sharing access of their homebase campus for several of our events and activities. Recently, they hosted our Ice Cream Social, an annual event designed to bring together the entire Partners community to enjoy ice cream, games, and conversation.
We were also able to use Realities For Children’s facilities to host our BrainWise Summer Series youth summer camps this past June and July. During these free, four-day sessions, our prevention education staff taught youth about brain development and making healthy choices through arts and crafts, science experiments, fun outdoor activities, and more.
Another way Realities For Children annually supports Partners is through their Back to School donation drive. Their most recent collection drive encouraged the community to donate backpacks and other school supplies for local youth in need, including Partners youth. Through this drive, Realities For Children donated about 90 backpacks to Partners youth, helping our local youth start the school year with the supplies they need to succeed.
By supporting us in these ways, Realities For Children continues to showcase their dedication to giving local youth opportunities to succeed and thrive, a mission that Partners also shares.
